Sherpa Agent on AWS Marketplace: one AI agent for AWS cost, security, and observability

A modern cloud operations room with a wall of AWS dashboards, on a deep-navy background — one AI agent across cost, security, observability, and operations.

Sherpa Agent is now available on AWS Marketplace, with a free trial through August 15. Talk to your AWS cloud: cost, security, observability, and operations in one conversation. Sherpa is a single AI agent that unifies your whole AWS environment into one connected, grounded view, so you can ask in plain English, run deep research, and act with your approval, instead of stitching together single-purpose tools.

One agent across cost, security, observability, and operations

Most teams don’t have a cost problem, a security problem, and an observability problem. They have a fragmentation problem. Sherpa closes it by putting all four domains on one grounded data layer and letting you query them in plain language, instead of switching between Cost Explorer, a CSPM tool, and a separate observability platform.

  • Cost. Sherpa ingests your full cost and usage data and connects every line item back to the account, service, and resource driving spend. It surfaces idle resources, rightsizing opportunities, Savings Plan and Reserved Instance coverage, Graviton moves, and anomalies through natural-language conversation.
  • Security. Agentless cloud security posture management (CSPM), identity and entitlements analysis (CIEM), external attack surface management, and shift-left source-code scanning, all reachable through conversational queries. Ask about a misconfiguration, an overprivileged role, or an exposed endpoint and get the exact resource, the impact, and clear remediation guidance.
  • Observability. Built on OpenTelemetry standards, Sherpa ingests metrics, logs, and traces from your existing collectors for cross-domain correlation. Connect a cost spike to the deployment and trace that caused it, bridging operational events and financial impact.
  • Operations, with a human in the loop. Sherpa does not just surface findings, it proposes the fix, and a person approves before anything runs.

The Sherpa Knowledge Graph

At the core is the Sherpa Knowledge Graph, a connected map of every resource, access role, cost line item, security finding, and observability signal in your environment, plus the relationships between them. That is what lets Sherpa answer cross-domain questions single-purpose dashboards cannot, such as which security findings sit on the resources driving your top 10 cost lines. The expensive problems live between the domains, and Sherpa is built to see them.

Deep research, grounded in your environment

Understanding your cloud is the starting point; deep research is where you go next. Sherpa Research runs a deep, multi-source investigation against your live environment and the materials you provide, then returns a clear, fully cited report in minutes, the kind of analysis that used to take a consultant weeks. Model a migration, evaluate a modernization path, or pressure-test a new architecture or AWS service, with every answer grounded in your real cost, security, observability, and operations data rather than generic best practices.

How Sherpa connects, and how you stay in control

Sherpa connects through a scoped, revocable cross-account IAM role, deployed with a CloudFormation StackSet you review before anything is created. Analysis access is read-only, built on AWS-managed read-only policies. No software is installed in your accounts.

You stay in control of every change. Sherpa never mutates a resource on its own. For a rightsizing, cleanup, or security fix, Sherpa Automate generates the exact plan — console steps, AWS CLI, and CloudFormation or Terraform, with safety pre-checks — and a person approves before anything runs. Your environment data is scoped to your organization, never co-mingled with another tenant’s, and encrypted at rest and in transit. Sherpa is actively pursuing SOC 2 Type II certification.

What Sherpa Agent costs

You can start with a free trial, available through August 15. After that, the public listing offers Sherpa Standard at $750 per month on a one-month contract. That includes two users (additional users are $40 per month each), 15M chat and Automate tokens, three deep-research queries per month, and full coverage across cost, security, observability, and inventory. Custom terms are available through a private offer.

We tested it in the open

Before we listed it, we pointed AWS’s own FinOps Agent and Sherpa at the same AWS account. Where AWS had a recommendation, Sherpa matched it, often to the dollar. Then it went further: it found the idle infrastructure AWS has no category for, and connected an idle load balancer to the exposed workload still sitting behind it, so one “delete this” was also the account’s highest-value security fix. The full head-to-head is here: AWS FinOps Agent vs Sherpa.

FAQ

What is Sherpa Agent?

Sherpa Agent is a conversational AI agent for AWS that unifies cost, security, observability, and inventory on one grounded data layer, the Sherpa Knowledge Graph. You ask questions in plain English and get answers that trace across all four domains, run deep research against your live environment, and act on findings with your approval. It is available on AWS Marketplace, built by HiveTek.

How does Sherpa connect to my AWS account?

Through a scoped, revocable cross-account IAM role deployed with a CloudFormation StackSet you review first. Analysis access is read-only, built on AWS-managed read-only policies, and no software is installed in your accounts. Sherpa never changes a resource on its own — operations are human-in-the-loop.
